2011-2012 Grant Results

Since 1992, the Dallas County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen® has raised more than $19 million to help save lives and move us closer to our goal of ending breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality breast health care in the Dallas area and funding national scientific research to find the cures. In addition to funding research, Komen Dallas County funds non-duplicative, screening mammograms, diagnostic services and treatment for the medically underserved in Dallas County. For 2012-2013, we invested approximately 75 percent of funds raised, which amounted to over $2 million, in Dallas County community programs.

It is estimated that 5,530 people in Dallas County today are living with breast cancer.  The funds Komen Dallas County grants to community programs in the Dallas area have made a positive difference in the lives of those living with this deadly disease.
